Bodega
Our elaborations are made in the oldest winery in the Appellation Navarra. Located to the north of the denomination and close to the Way of Saint James. Way of kings, abbots and monks, its influence was fundamental in the first wines of the region. History, tradition and new techniques come together in our winery. From the modern vinification room equipped with the best technology to the historic barrels room dedicated to its ageing, our winery is designed to make superior quality wines. Controlling each process from the entry of grapes into the winery, fermentation, ageing and final rest in the bottle, our team of highly experienced professionals is true to the search for excellence. A sign of identity is the freshness and personality of our wines.
All this work is developed with the experience and extensive trajectory of more than 130 years of work that supports us.
Castillo de Ejea
On a plateau stands the Castle of the Crown of Ejea. Former property of the Order of the Temple, this historic fortress stands the test of time as do the vineyards with which we make this wine. Elegant fortified tower appearing the river, the worked land surrounds its walls. Old castle of lords and knights, all its distinction is reflected in our elaborations.
Winemakers
Victor and David Fernández de Manzanos are now the fifth generation of a family dedicated to wine. More than 125 years devoted body and soul to what they do best, growing vines and making great wines. Born and raised in the most enological atmosphere, their lives are marked by the winery. Lives rooted in land of wine. The search for the most exclusive terroirs, the choice of the best vines, the selection of the best grapes, and the supervision of each elaboration, it is their objective. All this to be able to share with us his passion, wine. Transmitted generation after generation.
Vineyards
Our vineyards in DO Navarra have an exceptional climate and soils for the production of high quality wines. Our plots are distributed in different municipal terms, which allows us to explore the qualities of each terroir and its singularities. Always carrying out a sustainable viticulture with respect for our environment. Our small farms are specially selected for each type of wine.
Terroir
The confluence of the Atlantic, continental and Mediterranean climates, due to the proximity of the Cantabrian Sea, the influence of the Pyrenees and the proximity of the Ebro valley make up an exceptional situation for the cultivation of our vineyards. One of the main characteristics that define our vineyards in Navarra is the great diversity of landscapes and climates, finding all kinds of cultivation situations such as slopes, banks, plateaus or plains. Soils as diverse as clays, limestones, silts and even pebbles converge on our plots. All this, together with our vineyards conducted in gobelet and trellis system, build an ideal ecosystem for the development of our vineyards.
